I saw several questions about accommodation. By late August about 10 000 students (of the 20 000 or so overall) will return to Halifax and look for rooms. About 2000 will be able to live in dormitories, the rest will have to find private rooms. All 4 universities here have their own offices to assist students. A number of students rent houses or apartments and share. I recommend the latter arrangement because you really hone your language skills that way... don't live with "Landsleute". My recommendation is to come early August...not later than the 15th... and look personally for accommodation. You can stay for a few days at the Youth Hostel, YWCA (for women), or with Joan Robillard, a B&B place. She is also in real estate and knows the rental market and has assisted German students in the past. Her homepage is: [Link veraltet]
