Campus
Der Hauptcampus der University of Sydney im Stadtteil Camperdown ist eines der ältesten und ehrwürdigsten Unigelände in Australien.
Bekannt ist der 72 Hektar große Campus für seine eindrucksvolle Architektur. Viele Gebäude sind aus wunderschönem Sandstein gebaut, wie das ikonische Quadrangle mit seinem Innenhof und die Great Hall. Überall gibt es grüne Flächen zum Chillen und super viele Freizeitmöglichkeiten: Fitnesszentren, Cafés, Bars, rund um die Uhr geöffnete Bibliotheken sowie Museen und Kunstgalerien – hier gibt's für jeden etwas!
Der Campus grenzt direkt an die Royal Botanic Gardens – perfekt zum Relaxen und Spazieren nach den Vorlesungen. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos und die Umgebung ist einfach traumhaft. Dank der zentralen Lage bist du auch schnell am Opernhaus oder am Bondi Beach, um dich nach den Vorlesungen oder am Wochenende in die Wellen zu stürzen.
Für Abenteurer bietet Sydney jede Menge Möglichkeiten: Die Blue Mountains erkunden oder einen Trip zum Great Barrier Reef machen – hier wird es dir nie langweilig.
Die University of Sydney hat zudem noch weitere Campusstandorte und Forschungseinrichtungen in und um Sydney: den Westmead Campus mit der Westmead Clinical School und dem Westmead Hospital sowie den Camden Campus mit Fokus auf Landwirtschaft und Tiermedizin.

Die Hochschulstadt Sydney
Die eigentliche Stadt Sydney in Australien hat ohne die umliegenden Gebiete etwa 170 000 Einwohner, und die Innenstadt wird im Norden vom Hafen und von Circular Quay, im Osten von der Macquarie Street, im Westen vom Western Distributor und im Süden von der Liverpool Street begrenzt.
Sie ist das Industrie-, Handels- und Finanzzentrum Australiens und ein wichtiger Anziehungspunkt für Touristen. Als Wahrzeichen gelten das muschelförmige Opernhaus, das laut dem Erbauer dem Entfalten einer Orange nachempfunden sein soll, und die bekannte Hafenbrücke, neben der sich direkt die riesigen Royal Botanic Gardens befinden.
Man kann die Innenstadt leicht zu Fuß erschließen, und neben der Hafengegend ist vor allem die Altstadt The Rocks mit ihren Lagerhäusern an der Sydney Cove besonders sehenswert. Das höchste Gebäude ist der 305 Meter hohe Sydney Tower, der eine Aussichtsplattform hat und eine Rundumsicht über den Hafen bietet. Als Unterhaltungszentrum gilt das Gebiet um Darling Harbour, das bequem mit der Monorail befahren werden kann; dort befinden sich neben Restaurants ein Sega-World-Park, das Panasonic IMAX Theatre, Veranstaltungsstätten mit wechselndem Programm, der Chinesische Garten, das Schifffahrtsmuseum und das Sydney Aquarium, ein Meeresmuseum mit glasüberdachten Tunneln.
Sydney liegt in der subtropischen Klimazone, aber aufgrund der Nähe zur Küste ist es nicht allzu heiß. Die Jahresdurchschnittstemperatur liegt bei 17,4 °C, im Winter fällt die Temperatur fast nie unter 5 °C. Die niedrigste jemals gemessene Temperatur waren 2,1 °C. Dieses Wetter macht die Strände, vor allem den bekannten Bondi Beach, besonders attraktiv für Surfer und Touristen.

Beschreibung
Internationale Studierende können im Rahmen des Study Abroad Semesterprogramms der University of Sydney für ein oder zwei Semester an der Universität zu studieren. Hierbei können sie aus dem umfangreichen Kursangebot der Bachelor- und Masterstudiengänge auswählen. Angeboten werden Kurse unter anderem in den Studienfeldern Architektur, Arts, Business, Education, Law, Music und Science.
Teilnehmer*innen des Study Abroad Semesterprogramms müssen während ihres Aufenthalts an der University of Sydney als Vollzeitstudierende eingeschrieben sein. Das bedeutet, dass sie pro Semester mindestens drei Kurse (18 Credit Points) belegen müssen. Viele Study Abroad Studierende belegen aber sogar vier Kurse.

Voraussetzungen
Bewerber für das "Study Abroad" Programm der University of Sydney müssen einen Notendurchschnitt von mindestens 3,0 bzw. C erreichen.
