Studienjahr

Das Studienjahr an der Murdoch University ist in zwei Semester unterteilt:

• Semester 2 2025: 21. Juli 2025 – 22. November 2025
• Semester 1 2026: 26. Februar 2026 – 20. Juni 2026

Der South Street Campus der Murdoch University in Perth ist nicht nur der Hauptstandort, sondern mit 2,27 Quadratkilometern auch der größte Universitätscampus Australiens. Hier erwartet dich jede Menge Platz, Natur und moderne Infrastruktur. Das Herzstück des Campus bildet der Bush Court, eine große Wiese, auf der du dich mit Freund*innen treffen, lernen oder einfach mal durchatmen kannst. Direkt daneben findest du das Student Hub, die Bibliothek und Boola Katitjin, ein außergewöhnliches und futuristisches Gebäude, das komplett auf moderne Lehre ausgerichtet ist.

Auf dem Campus der Murdoch University bekommst du auch sonst alles, was dein Studierendenherz begehrt: Rund 20 Cafés, Restaurants und Shops sorgen dafür, dass du immer gut versorgt bist – vom ersten Kaffee am Morgen bis zum entspannten Abendessen mit Kommiliton*innen. Wenn du Lust hast, dich über den Hörsaal hinaus zu engagieren, findest du jede Menge Clubs, Sportgruppen und Initiativen, bei denen du neue Leute kennenlernen und dich einbringen kannst. Südlich von Perth liegen der Rockingham Campus, der insbesondere Einrichtungen für die Bereiche Arts und Commerce beherbergt, und der Mandurah Campus, an dem die School of Health Professions beheimatet ist.

Perth ist die lebendige, internationale und trotzdem ganz entspannte Hauptstadt von Western Australia. Sie liegt direkt am Swan River und ist nur ein paar Minuten von traumhaften Stränden entfernt. Dank über 300 Sonnentagen im Jahr spielt sich hier vieles draußen ab: Ob Picknick im Park, Sonnenuntergang am Strand oder ein Kaffee am Fluss – in Perth findest du immer einen schönen Platz an der frischen Luft. Besonders beliebt sind Strände wie Cottesloe oder Scarborough, perfekt zum Schwimmen, Surfen oder einfach zum Entspannen.

Mit rund zwei Millionen Einwohnern ist Perth groß genug, um richtig was zu bieten, wirkt dabei aber nie überfüllt oder stressig. Die Stadt ist übersichtlich, sicher und hat ein gut ausgebautes öffentlichen Verkehrsnetz, bei dem du als Studierende*r viele Vergünstigungen bekommst. In angesagten Vierteln wie Northbridge oder Leederville erwarten dich Cafés, Clubs, Kunstgalerien und Food Markets. Dir wird also garantiert niemals langweilig!

Und das Beste: Die Natur ist nie weit weg. Ob du einen Tagestrip zu den süßen Quokkas auf der Rottnest Island planst, oder einfach nur einen Spaziergang durch den beeindruckenden Kings Park mit Blick auf die Skyline machst – Perth bietet dir jede Menge Erlebnisse, die du so schnell nicht vergisst.

Du bist gerne draußen unterwegs und willst Australien nicht nur aus dem Hörsaal erleben? Als Abiturient*in kannst du an der Murdoch University ein Academic Gap Year absolvieren und ein oder zwei Semester lang am Campus studieren. Du kannst einführende Kurse aus den verschiedensten Studiengängen belegen und so in mehrere Fächer hineinschnuppern.

Wenn du dich für ein Academic Gap Year an der Murdoch University bewerben möchtest, benötigst du das (Fach-) Abitur. Außerdem musst du ausreichend gute Englischkenntnisse nachweisen. Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten

Zur Finanzierung des Auslandssemesters an der Murdoch Univeristy kann unter anderem Auslands-BAföG beantragt werden. Dieses beinhaltet neben Unterstützung bei den Lebenshaltungs– und Reisekosten sowie der Krankenversicherung auch einen Zuschuss zu den Studiengebühren in Höhe von bis zu EUR 5.600, sofern ein individueller Anspruch auf Förderung besteht.

Die Murdoch University vergibt außerdem ein Accommodation Scholarship über AUD$1,000 an Studierende, die im Februar 2026 ihr Auslandssemester beginnen und in der Murdoch Village wohnen möchten.

Ein Masterstudium ist genau das richtige, wenn du spezialisiertes Fachwissen aufbauen und deine im Bachelor erlernten Skills verfeinern möchtest. An der Murdoch University kannst du aus einer ganzen Reihe an Masterstudiengängen in verschiedenen Fachbereichen wählen. Je nach Studiengang solltest du für das Studium etwa 18 Monate bis zwei Jahre in Vollzeit einplanen.

Du kannst wählen, ob du deinen Master rein über Lehrveranstaltungen (Coursework) machst, oder zusätzlich eine Abschlussarbeit (Dissertation) schreibst – je nachdem, was du erreichen möchtest und wohin dein Weg dich führen soll. Um einen Master an der Murdoch University zu beginnen, benötigst du meist einen Bachelor- oder einen gleichwertigen Abschluss von einer anerkannten Institution.
