Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine: Sporting Courses

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine offers many engaging and topical subjects for Study Abroad students to participate in during their stay in Australia. Some of the Health Sciences and Medicine’s ‘hot’ subjects include:

- Sports Coaching
- Australian Sport in the Modern Era and;
- Nutrition and Health

The Gold Coast is the ideal location to study sports courses, boasting national sporting teams including the Gold Coast Blaze (basketball), the Gold Coast Titans (rugby league) and Gold Coast United (soccer).

Zach Gustafon is a Study Abraod student from Bentley University (United States of America). Zach is currently taking two subjects at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine and loves the possibility of combining his passion for sports and nutrition with academia.

“I have always had a strong interest in sports, and my home University doesn’t offer subjects such as these. So I decided to take Sports Marketing and Health and Nutrition whilst here at Bond University” said Zach.

Sports Marketing combines business education and class discussion, which allows Zach to intact with local and international students who share a similar interest in business, sports and health.

“In my classes I am able to experience the Australian culture through learning about the nutritional issues here in Australia. Also understanding which sports are more popular in the Australian society” said Zach.

Overall, Zach has rated his experiences at Bond University very highly, and recommends other students partake in the program.
